On October 23, 2025, the crypto world was once again shaken.
President Donald Trump granted a full pardon to CZ, the founder of Binance, a decision that immediately divided opinions between supporters and critics.
On platform X (Twitter), CZ wrote:
“Deeply grateful for this pardon and to President Trump for his support of justice and innovation. We will help make America the Crypto Capital and advance Web3 around the world.”
This move is seen as a major turning point for the U.S. position in digital innovation, especially amid the ongoing debate between regulation and freedom to innovate in the crypto sector.
CZ’s Reflection: “The Process Was Painful, But It Didn’t Break Me”
CZ shared his personal journey through the legal process:
“I think I’m lucky. The process was painful, but it didn’t break me. My official record may be tainted, but my reputation remains strong. No one stopped doing business with me. My family, friends, and community stood by me. Let’s keep building.”
His statement has become a symbol of resilience and the strength of the crypto community, illustrating that decentralization isn’t just about technology, but also solidarity.
Support from Web3 Figures
Many prominent Web3 figures quickly voiced their support.
Ella Zhang, CEO of YZi Labs, said:
“CZ deserves this pardon. His dedication has always been about improving human life.”
Balaji Srinivasan, former CTO of Coinbase, emphasized:
“CZ’s trial was the result of unclear regulations and discriminatory treatment. Blaming him personally for the actions of 250 million Binance users is absurd.”
Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, also wrote:
“Congratulations to my friend CZ. Trump has corrected a great injustice against the crypto industry.”
Senator Warren Attacks, Community Strikes Back
Not everyone welcomed the news positively. Senator Elizabeth Warren accused that CZ’s pardon was the result of “political lobbying and corruption.”
“CZ pleaded guilty to money laundering, funded Trump’s stablecoin, and then got a pardon. This sets a dangerous precedent,” she wrote on X.
The claim was immediately refuted by community records and crypto analysts.
Official documents state that CZ never pleaded guilty to money laundering, but only to violating the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) for failing to implement an effective AML (anti–money laundering) program.
CZ responded firmly:
“There were no money-laundering charges. The same senator declared a ‘war on crypto’ on TV five days before my sentencing. This is clear evidence of the politicization of our industry.”
Analyst Scott Melker added:
“Shameful, Senator. CZ was not guilty of money laundering. Facts matter.”
Major Impact on the U.S. Crypto Ecosystem
This pardon decision is not merely a legal story, it marks a new roadmap for U.S. crypto regulation and the future of Web3.
With direct support from the White House, the U.S. now appears more open to cryptocurrency adoption and blockchain technology.
Other major crypto exchanges see this as “the beginning of a new chapter for crypto in America.”
Meanwhile, BNB tokens surged nearly 8% within just 24 hours after the news broke.
Conclusion
CZ’s case may have begun as a legal drama but ended as a moment of moral and political resurgence for the crypto community.
In one brief statement, CZ reaffirmed the message that has long fueled the Web3 movement:
“No matter how fierce the storm, the crypto community will keep building.”
